Okay, many of you know that I am not especially happy with my OB. Typically when you are pregnant with multiples you are seen at least once a month if not
twice in the beginning. Well my OB said to come back in 6 weeks for another appointment and this is after I have been on and off bed rest for high blood
pressure. When we we went for our last visit he was checking for the heartbeats and he was satisfied that we barely heard one, even after we have had problems
with Baby B having a slow heart rate. So I pressed the subject and he finally did an ultrasound (wouldn't give us any pics) and never determined what the
heart rates were.... the whole scan was about 2 minutes long! So today I find out that the hospital I would be delivering at doesn't even have a
NICU....hello multiples!!!!! So I have officially decided to find a new OB in Nashville and deliver at Baptist who are known for delivering multiples and have
a Level 3 NICU. I just don't understand why I wasn't told the first time we went to my OB that they didn't have a NICU there!!!!!

I never went more than 4 weeks between OB appt. I'm so glad you are making the change, I can't believe they would even recommend you deliver at a
hospital without ANY NICU!!

Yep multiples or not you should be seeing the OB every 4 weeks, with multiples and the issues you had with b's heartrate I am surprized they didn;t want to
see you back in 2....good choice!

What??? They should have specifically said "you NEED to go somewhere with a NICU!" what were their plans should they be born early? are they going to
fly them somewhere?? That's just crazy. You're doing the right thing!

I delivered at Baptist and LOVED it. PM me if you want the contact info for my OB. She rocks!! She stayed to deliver Reagan even though she wasn't on call.
I will never forget her leaning down and whispering in my ear after she finished my emergency c-section "thank you for letting us do what we needed to to
to get the baby out". I will forever be grateful to her for taking such good care of us. I can't imagine having a doctor I had never seen have to do
my c-section under such circumstances.

Wow that's scary I would put a complaint against that OB, someone that is pg with multiples that might not know you need to be seen more, could be in a bad
spot.
I'm glad you are switching! |
